Culture says...I say...

I was having a conversation with some women the other day in regards to raising daughters, and I said "basically whatever the culture says is good, we try to do the opposite" -- it was semi jokingly, but also has a lot of truth to it.

Which got me thinking -- it's my hope and prayer that my daughters have plenty of role models to look up to in their real lives (grandmothers, myself, other godly women)...but what about in the culture? There's not many current day influential women I'd want them to glean from, but there are a few and a lot who have already gone on to glory. Are any of these women perfect? By no means. But I'd much rather them influence my daughters than society's norms (of whom I really had to narrow down the list because they're aplenty!)
