Homemade Bone Broth

Bone broth benefits:

Highly nutritious, helps fight inflammation, improves joint health, aides in digestion, rich in calcium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorous, collagen, vitamin A, K2, zinc, iron, omega 3s, and extremely healing to the gut! If you have leaky gut, Crohn's, IBS, etc - incorporate bone broth into your diet! If your bone broth is super gelatinous after being in the fridge, that's a good sign.

It's important to note that finding pasture raised chicken or grass fed beef bones is ideal because these animals will provide the maximum health benefits. Bones are inexpensive. Find a local farm, or even ask your butcher!

Instructions:

  1. Place bones and any scrap veggies or herbs in slow cooker or instant pot.

  2. Fill to top with water, add salt, pepper, and a good splash of apple cider vinegar to help draw out the nutrients from the bones.

  3. Cook on low for 24 hours.

  4. Allow to cool and strain.

  5. Store in fridge or freeze for easy meals later!
