Homemade Hair Detangler Spray

I love convenient, non toxic brands. But there are some things we just go through too fast to be spending money on the non toxic version (like detangler spray - hello daughters!)...so when I can find a homemade version that actually works and is effective, that's a huge win in my book! Most detangler sprays have harmful chemicals like hormone disruptors and carcinogens. And this is something we use daily!

You can make this spray at home with just a few ingredients and be confident you aren't spraying toxic chemicals for you or your kids to inhale.

Ingredients/supplies:

  • 1 16 oz glass spray bottle

  • 2 tbsp non toxic conditioner

  • 5 pumps fractionated coconut oil (almond or jojoba works too!)

  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 15 drops lavendar essential oil

  • 15 drops frankincense essential oil

  • filtered water

  • funnel for your sanity

Directions:

  1. Add 1/2 C filtered water to bottle

  2. Use funnel to add remaining ingredients

  3. Close lid and shake shake shake

  4. Fill remainder of bottle with water and give it one more shake, and you're good to go!

You can totally customize this! Lavendar and frankincense are great for hair health, but if you don't have them, substitute with whatever you'd like (the interweb has lots of information on best EOs for specific situations - like hair!) 🌿 Apple cider vinegar also has many benefits for your hair like restoring pH, boosting shine, and removing built up residue. It does have a stronger smell though so adjust accordingly. You can always add more! Note: you will need to give it a shake before each use!
