Nursing Twins

My journey of nursing twins has come to an end, and I’m having all sorts of feelings about it. 😭😍🙌🏼🥺 This was one of the last pictures I have of them tandem nursing. After this beach trip, Silas weaned pretty abruptly. Gideon hung on another 2 months – gradually decreasing how often he asked. And now here we are, 22 months later, turning the page and closing that chapter. 🤍

Expecting one baby and then getting two thrust me into an unknown – even though this was my fourth breastfeeding journey. The early days and weeks were filled with all sorts of hills and valleys. Then we began another new journey of supplementing, which turned out to be such a blessing! I’m so thankful to have been able to do extended breastfeeding with the twins. So, I’m celebrating this accomplishment! There are so many sacrifices that come along with nursing, but it is such a sweet bond that I’ve gotten to share with all my children and it’s so worth it.

What’s one of your favorite things about nursing your babies? Mine is 100% nursing them to sleep. The way their heavy body just relaxes into yours like a puddle – it’s heaven on earth.
